Blue Hive Strategy
The key to a powerful blue hive is stacking +% Blue Pollen and +% Blue Field Capacity hive bonuses. Beret gives both — stack 2 on Cool Bee and Bumble Bee. Add Icicles to any bee that knows Blue Bomb (Frosty, Cobalt, or any with Bottle Cap). Windy Bee's Summon Wind ability collects massive blue pollen bursts from Bamboo Field.
For mutations, prioritize Convert Amount on your highest-capacity bees (Buoyant, Bumble, Cool), and Ability Rate on Music Bee to maximize Melody uptime.
Why blue hive is effective: Blue Flower Field provides consistent pollen with predictable spawn patterns. The combination of Clover Field and Bamboo Field means blue bees spend less travel time between flowers compared to red or white hives. Blue pollen capacity scales directly with beequip bonuses — stacking Berets and Elf Caps on your top 5 bees creates exponential honey generation.
Progression tip: Start blue hives as soon as you get Cool Bee and Bumble Bee from Rare Eggs (Beginner-Early game). You'll want at least one Beret before building a competitive blue hive. Red Hive Strategy
Stack +% Red Attack and +% Flame Pollen hive bonuses. Use Precise's mark ability with flame-based attacks to create massive scorching combos. Thumbtack is the cornerstone beequip for red hives — it provides both Attack and Critical Chance, two stats that multiply each other when stacked properly.
The red hive excels at mob control and speed farming. By equipping Brave, Rad, Riley, and Commander with Thumbtack and attack mutations, you can one-shot dangerous mobs and complete field cycles much faster than other builds. This makes red hives ideal for farming tickets, treats, and rare drops.
Why red hive is effective: Red pollen flowers (Rose Field, Strawberry Field, Pumpkin Patch) have tighter spawn zones, meaning red bees can gather more pollen per unit time. Additionally, the flame ability on red bees (especially Brave and Rad) triggers area damage, making mob fights trivial. Red Boost from Riley Bee stacks multiplicatively when applied to your entire hive, creating exponential attack scaling.
Gifted bees matter most here: Vicious Bee (gifted) is arguably the single best gifted bee in the game for a red hive. Its gifted hive bonus applies a massive multiplier to all bee attack damage, turning even weak bees into formidable fighters. Pair this with Commander Bee's Mark ability to apply Vicious's bonus to marked enemies.
Mid-game progression: Start collecting Brave Bee and Hasty Bee as soon as possible. Once you have 3-4 red bees with Thumbtacks, the raw attack power makes farming and progression significantly faster than other builds. Step-by-step hive planning
1. Create a free account at bsshive.com/login.html — takes 10 seconds with Google sign-in.
