In Bee Swarm Simulator (BSS) on Roblox, your hive is the core of your gameplay. It consists of 50 hexagonal slots, each holding one bee. The combination of bee types, rarities, beequips, mutations, and gifted status determines your honey production, attack power, and pollen gathering efficiency.

🔵 Blue Hive Build

A blue hive in BSS focuses on maximizing blue pollen collection, balloon conversion, and blue field capacity. It's one of the most popular build types thanks to Blue Flower Field, Clover Field, and Bamboo Field coverage.

Blue Hive Strategy

The key to a powerful blue hive is stacking +% Blue Pollen and +% Blue Field Capacity hive bonuses. Beret gives both — stack 2 on Cool Bee and Bumble Bee. Add Icicles to any bee that knows Blue Bomb (Frosty, Cobalt, or any with Bottle Cap). Windy Bee's Summon Wind ability collects massive blue pollen bursts from Bamboo Field.

For mutations, prioritize Convert Amount on your highest-capacity bees (Buoyant, Bumble, Cool), and Ability Rate on Music Bee to maximize Melody uptime.

🔴 Red Hive Build

A red hive in BSS focuses on red pollen, flame abilities, high attack power, and Rose Field / Strawberry Field / Pumpkin Patch capacity. Red hives excel at killing mobs and generating Honey through high conversion rates.

✨ Gifted Bee Hive Tips

Gifted bees in BSS have a golden glow and provide significantly stronger hive bonuses. Every bee slot in your hive can be gifted, but gifting is expensive — plan carefully which bees are worth gifting.

Which bees to gift first?

Priority for gifting depends on your build, but generally:

🧬 Mutations Guide

Mutations in Bee Swarm Simulator are stat bonuses applied to individual bees, obtained through Royal Jelly, Star Treats, or certain quests. Each bee can have one mutation. Choosing the right mutation for each bee slot is one of the most impactful decisions in hive building.

🟡 Convert Amount

Increases pollen converted to honey per trip. Best on high-capacity bees: Buoyant, Bumble, Cool, Baby, Vector.

🔴 Attack

Increases bee attack damage. Best on combat bees: Brave, Rad, Riley, Commander, Demon, Vicious.

🟢 Gather Amount

Increases pollen gathered per flower. Best on high gather-rate bees: Precise, Carpenter, Hasty, Looker.

🟤 Energy

Increases max bee energy for longer field trips. Required for Bubble Light beequip. Best on long-duration bees.

💛 Instant Conversion

Chance to instantly convert pollen on gather. Required for Pink Eraser beequip. Pairs well with Convert Amount builds.

🔵 Movespeed

Increases bee movement speed for faster flower-to-flower travel. Best on Fuzzy, Windy, Precise, Hasty.

🟩 Critical Chance

Increases chance to land critical hits. Best on attack bees and bees equipped with crit-focused beequips.

🟣 Ability Rate

Increases frequency of bee ability activation. Best on Music, Ninja, Carpenter, Puppy, Photon, and ability-focused bees.

🧬 Some beequips have conditions requiring a specific mutation. Demon Talisman requires the bee to have any mutation. Pink Eraser requires a Convert Amount mutation. Beesmas Tree Hat also requires a mutation. Plan this in advance using BSS Hive Builder.

BSS Hive Builder at bsshive.com is a free online tool specifically designed for planning Bee Swarm Simulator hives. Here's how to use it:

Step-by-step hive planning

1. Create a free account at bsshive.com/login.html — takes 10 seconds with Google sign-in.

2. Select bee mode — click any hexagonal slot in the 50-slot hive grid to assign a bee. Filter by rarity tab (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Events).

3. Switch to Beequips mode — click a slot to assign a beequip. The inspector panel shows all stats, hive bonuses, and restrictions for the selected beequip.

4. Switch to Mutations mode — assign mutation types to individual bees, color-coded by mutation type.

5. Switch to Levels mode — set bee levels 1–25 for each slot.
